Tamsin Hinchley - Head Coach Girls Beach
Tamsin Hinchley is one of the few athletes in the world to be a dual-sport Olympian. She has represented Australia in two Olympic Games and has played over 350 international matches for her country. Her most recent and favorite achievement is placing 5th for beach volleyball at the Beijing Olympic Games 2008 with her partner Natalie Cook.
I enjoy coaching young athletes and helping them to push their limits to reach their goals. I try to bring the same ethic to the court as a coach and a player. I believe everyone has the ability to be be a top athlete so long as they do their best and always put 100% into every training, match and strength session. I believe volleyball should be fun but that doesn't mean taking it easy- it means trying new things, pushing your limits and at the end of the day feeling proud that you have achieved something either individually or as a team

Shannon Winzer
I’m originally from Vancouver, Canada and first started playing volleyball at primary school when I was 10 years old. After high school I went on to play at the University of British Columbia in Canada from 1998-2002, one of the most successful and well regarded programs in the country. Since then I've played 3 years in the English National League, 5 years in the Australian National League where I captained Uni Blues to a National Championship and I also played 2 years with the Australian National Team (2008-2009). Recently, I decided to start a family and take a break from elite level volleyball and as a result my focus has shifted from playing to coaching...although you can still see me suit up at state league for the Southern Cross Cobras.
I am excited for this opportunity to coach GMVA athletes, I love coaching young players and challenging them on and off the court. I expect a lot out of the players I work with because I believe that being successful in any sport is only 10% talent and 90% hard work and determination.

I am currently the Tournament Director of the Victorian Beach Tour.

Lauren Bertolacci - Co Head Coach, Girls Indoor
As a player I have played professionally the last 5 years in Europe in Spain, Germany and France. I am a setter and have been a member of the Australian Women's team since 2005. I look forward to working with the GMVA athletes, getting more involved in coaching, and helping junior athletes in Victoria realise their potential and see what they can achieve in the very large world of Volleyball.
Mark Dorosz - Assistant Coach, Boys u19 Indoor
My interest in volleyball began 13 years ago when I was introduced to the sport at high school.
As a player I have represented Victoria as a junior and senior, (most recently in 2011) and Australia as a junior athlete. One of my proudest moments as a player was being asked to captain the Heidelberg Men’s volleyball team in 2011, a club that has a proud and successful history within volleyball in Australia. Over the past decade I have been fortunate to be exposed to many different coaches and players whom I have gained valuable knowledge and experience from. Volleyball has given me the opportunity to compete and grow as a person on and off the court in varying roles.
Working with some of the state's fine young athletes, I look forward to imparting my experiences and knowledge.

Lena Skippa - Assistant Coach, Girls Indoor
I've played volleyball since primary school. Played for Eltham High School from year 7 to 12. Played for Falcons volleyball club at state league for 4 years and transferred to Heidelberg this year for what has been a really fun season.
I Represented Victoria from u15s to u21s. Assistant coached u19 Victorian White Team at the 2011 AJVC. Played AVL for Uni Blues for the last 3 years.
Represented Australia at Youth level and went on a Europe tour with a collaborated Junior Aus team in 2009. Got an opportunity to go to Italy to play with a club team there at the beginning of 2011.
There is still plenty to learn and I hope to keep learning and improving every time I train, I hope this is a quality that the GMVA girls respect and try to do the same.

Hannah Martin - Assistant Coach, Girls indoor
I first learned to play volleyball at Eltham High and have since then represented Victoria in every age group since u15s. I have represented Australia at youth level and am now a member in the senior squad. Career highlights include Victorian schools cup MVP (2008) state MVP (2010) and bringing home the gold medal from AJVC 2 years in a row (2009, 2010). I am working towards taking my volleyball career as far as I can with my sights set on playing professionally in Europe in 2012.
Even though I am still improving aspects of my own game, I enjoy coaching and mentoring the younger girls as it gives me a chance to pass on what I have learned so far and hopefully I can make an impact and help them improve.

I have represented Victoria from u17’s through to u21’s and represented Australia at a Junior and Senior level. I’ve been a member of the Senior Women’s Squad since 2009 and I have played AVL for Uni Blues for the past 5 years. Just recently in the past year I trained for 3 months in South Korea and I hope to achieve my dream of playing professionally in Europe in the near future.I still have so much to learn and so much to improve which I hope to achieve with each training. I’m looking forward to sharing everything I have learnt so far and hopefully helping them realise all the reasons as to why I love this sport.
Alan Hinchley - Assistant Coach Girls and Boys Beach
As a player I was lucky enough to play beach volleyball all over the world. I competed in 9 world tour events with my best finish being a 17th in Jakarta. I have also won 2 Asian Championships, one in Hong Kong and the other in Thailand. I've also won State Championships in both Victoria and Western Australia along with winning one National Tour event in Perth. I still enjoy playing the state tour here in Melbourne but am looking forward to getting more involved in coaching. I think Beach Volleyball is a great sport and look forward to passing on my passion.
Nikki Bishop - Assistant Coach Girls Indoor & Beach
I really am in love with this sport. I represented Australia at a junior level and also am now apart of the senior national team squad. i lived and played in sweden for about 8 months last year i really aspire to get back over to Europe again at the end of the year.I never dreamed the sport would of taken me on such great adventures. i have learnt a lot from the sport and the people i now know because of Volleyball.
I guess this is something i like about coaching, you can helping younger athletes realise that it is possible to achieve anything if you really want it and put in 100 percent.

Peter Rivett - Coach
As a coach I am constantly seeking to learn. I was quite late in coming to Volleyball and feel I have a great deal to make for. I have had a great experience coaching at a school and state level since 2004. My experience as a player with elite level basketball gives me some insight to emotions and thought processes at a playing level and my experience as a minister and youth worker gives me insight into the emotion and developmental paradigms of young athletes. My playing at a beach and state league level is a work in progress, that is enough said about that really.
I am excited about being part of GMVA this year because of the opportunity it affords me to learn and develop my coaching. I am also looking forward to bringing new perspectives to the coaching and care of athletes as well as assisting in developing relationships between GMVA and Schools programs.

Luke Reynolds - Assistant Coach, Boys & Girls
Over the past 4 years I have been playing and coaching abroad in the North American University systems. My first year away was spent playing in the USA with the Newman University Jets in the NAIA, while the other 3 years were spent playing for the Brandon University Bobcats in Canada. At a Junior level I played in the U19 and U21 Victorian State Teams, for the Melbourne Falcons in the Victorian State League and several years were spent in the AVL with the Uni Blues.
In Canada I coached the U14 BVC Club teams and other Junior programs based around the community. The University also had me head coach the Bobcat Summer Volleyball camps, this involved running and organizing 70 athletes over a 5 day period. The success of these camps led to the head coaching role for the Mens Prarie Volleyball Showcase, an event for athletes trying to get sporting scholarships from high schools to Universities. In the final year of being in Canada I head coached the U21 Brandon University Bobcats. Currently I work as an International Recruiter for the Brandon University Bobcats who are based in the CIS and scout for several College teams in the ACAC.
Now that I'm home in Australia I'm coaching at Billanook College and Haileybury College. In 2011 I will continue to work as an assistant coach with the GMVA program and Australian Junior Mens Program. Along with these Assistant Coaching jobs I have also been appointed as the Head Coach of the Victorian U19 Mens White Team. I look forward to working closely with the GMVA athletes to improve their skills, knowledge and tactics involved in the game of Volleyball.
